As I'm sitting here getting ready to bring in another new year, I had my iTunes on shuffle and this cover of The xx's Shelter came on that I completely forgot about. Pretty sure I found it on Hype Machine a year or two ago and it takes one of my favorite bands and makes their song a little less depressing and more upbeat.

New Years' Resolutions
So... this has been somewhat of a long time coming, but my best friend Emily and I have always wanted to start a blog about music. I figured it's the last day of 2012... what better day to start. We've attended Lollapalooza for the past 3 years and have no intentions of ever stopping. It's the one thing we look forward to every year and we always talk about how we should be blogging about music. Music is literally the only thing in life that will never go away. It's amazing and can inspire me in a lot of ways. Recently, it has inspired me to get a new tattoo (...or two)
Last night as I was looking around in my iTunes, I realized that I needed a playlist of amazing songs to help me get some work done today. I spent about 30 minutes picking various songs to create the best playlist possible. It encompasses everything I look for in a playlist. I was aiming for songs that just made me feel good, but were mellow enough that I could actually get some work done.
Here's my playlist (in alphabetical artist order): Feel free to copy and create it as well.
Now that I've procrastinated my own work by writing this blog, I should get back to listening to this amazing playlist and get some work done. Happy New Year!

I keep dancing on my own,
