I've got that summertime sadness

So of course I have to work today!!!! I can't wait for the day I put my two weeks notice in and leave this awful and abusive job.  Anyways the only good thing that comes from this job is that they sometimes play really good songs.  Currently we have one of my Lana Del Rey songs on the store soundtrack and I get so excited for 4 minutes and 26 seconds that Summertime sadness plays.  And plus Lana is just so fucking cool I just want to be her when i grow up.  I can't wait to see her this summer at LOLLAPALOOZA (fingers crossed we actually get to soooo many LOLLA obstacles this year).  I better start planning my outfit for Lana because I need to be her that day.

Everything you touch, oh it dies

I forgot how obsessed I am with this song.  Its so beautiful and defiantly on the depression playlist.  I don't know anything else about Passenger I actually think it's a single person but i could be so wrong.  Let me learn more about you passenger because i really like you.

I'm not okay

Once again i'm dying.  Whenever i drink now i get three day hangovers now so this is the third day fingers crossed i will feel better.  The only thing I have been listening to is obviously alt-j.  I have a serious alt-j addiction to the point where i tweet them daily and listen to them every chance I get.  I can't help it. #noticeme #noticingyou

I would like to take the time to talk about a song that i literally listen to on repeat.  Some people may be embarrassed to admit that they like this song but I don't.  This is a song that will forever go on my depression list.

Like the lyrics are so emotionally upsetting I can't even take it.  This will be my 2013 wake me up when september ends. Sorry Jeana!

I don't want nobody else

Today, on our wonderful 1/2 day that felt like an eternity, I was working with some Pandora radio on (The Naked and Famous Station) and this song randomly came on. It's by Wolf Gang and it's called Back to Back.

At first, I thought they were somewhat depressing and had a bit of Yeasayer in them, just less electronic. After downloading their entire album entitled Suego Faults, I quickly found out they had an upbeat side to their music and reminded me a little bit of MGMT. The whole album so far is pretty legit and I'm into it. Obviously, they are a British band (my favorite kind) and the album Suego Faults was released in 2011. Here's another song to enjoy on this beautiful April day. (Finally a day where it hasn't rained at some point)

Welcome Back MO (Manchester Orchestra)!

Two new singles were released from Manchester Orchestra! These songs were released for Record Store Day which is an international event that encourages support of local record stores.  What a cool idea!  I have been a fan of Manchester Orchestra since April my sophomore year of college.  More specifically two weeks after they played a free concert at Quinnipiac University which i missed because i was not a fan at the time.  One of my biggest regrets in life!  But anyways I am a little over it and have now seen them 3 times live and they are so amazing live.  Here are the new MO singles featuring Group Love on one and Frightened Rabbit on the other.

I mean obviously i would love to share with all the millions of people who read this blog my ALL TIME FAVORITE MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA SONG! The most sad and depressing song ever and I LOVE IT!

FTFW

In 63 days Jeana and I will be attending our first music festival of the summer.  For the first time we will be attending the wonderful, stress free, non ulcer inducing Governors Ball music festival in New York City.  This festival has many acts that I am looking forward to such as Cold War Kids, The Lumineers, ALT-J ∆ and many others.  But recently I have been listening to Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zero on repeat especially their song 40 Day Dream.  It makes me excited for summer.

Because I have an obsession of watching interviews of bands on YouTube I of course have been watching Edward Sharp interviews specifically interviews with the lead singer Alexander.  I don't know if its just me but like I swear in some interviews he looks exactly like Ryan Gosling!

Don't you see it? Comment and let me know what you think!

Who Knows Who Cares

Well, today is turning into a great day even though I feel terrible. I am officially (pending some HR business) teaching a class at Quinnipiac next semester. We get Lollapalooza tickets tomorrow and Governor's Ball is just 65 short sleeps away. In light of the Governor's Ball, I created my playlist of artists and Local Natives happened to come on. I have never actually listened to them but I downloaded their album a long time ago. I am mildly obsessed with this song and I feel like it will have the same effect as Rivers and Roads by The Head and The Heart did at Lollapalooza. I can only imagine this song being EPIC live. Enjoy on this chilly spring day.
