Hi my name is Emily and I am a Vampire Weekend addict. It's so bad that i actually can't fall asleep unless I'm listening to them. As much as I love the new album I have am back in love with their old songs specifically Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa. Since I have overtaken Intstagram with my TBT I thought I would post this TBT gem. Thank god today my classes ended so now I'm officially on summer break and can fill my days listening to Vampire Weekend.
I also love Oxford Comma because its just so fucking weird!
If you are my friend you know i have an obsession with vampires (Twilight and True Blood) and I went through I phase of biting people at the age of 21 and 22. Don't worry I've had all my vaccines and i normally don't break the skin. That may have been TMI sorry! Anyways today the new Vampire Weekend album Modern Vampires of the Weekend came out today and i legally downloaded it on itunes. I am beyond obsessed with it as well as with them and the lead singer Ezra I like totally have a crush. If you buy this album to support my crush Ezra and the rest of Vampire Weekend you will not be disappointed it will be the best $9.99 you will ever spend! Here are some of the best songs in my opinion off the album!!!!!
DIANE YOUNG-I mean obsessed does not even describe how I feel about this song. I will never in my entire life get sick of this song!!!!!!!!! REPEAT FOR DAYS!!!!
I can't contain my excitement. I wanted to make The Neighbourhood my FFF (Fast Forward Friday) Artist of the week, but their album is entirely too good right now. Their debut album I Love You just came out towards the end of April and the single Sweater Weather is currently tearing up the radios. Here is Sweater Weather, W.D.Y.W.F.M?, and Flawless. I just have to say when looking at the track list, I knew immediately that W.D.Y.W.F.M? stood for what do you want from me? before even hearing the song. I must be some sort of decoding expert.
My new obsession. Might need to follow them on twitter and hope for a RT. Fingers crossed!
And they are in Philly June 25th! Ah $14 tickets. And it's the last day of school... Could I make it from Hartford to Philly by 8pm?
"Your only flaw, you are flawless. But I just can't wait for love to destroy us - The Neighbourhood"
I have invented a new day of the week... Fast Forward Friday (copyright pending). What this means is that on Friday's, I am going to try to bring some attention/publicity to an upcoming band or album release so that we can all be ahead of the radio/popular curve. Because I know we all HATE when you love a song on an album and then a year later, that particular song becomes incredibly popular because the radio stations got their act together and put it on the air. Radio 104.1 needs to pick up their game... or I should just be a radio DJ on the side.
Although it's not Friday, the very first Fast Forward Friday honor goes to my latest obsession... Capital Cities. On the radio, you may have heard the very popular Safe and Sound. It's extremely catchy and has such a positive upbeat tempo. Apparently, they released it in 2011 but it got no air time. Now, with their album coming out, they re-released it and it seems to be doing better the second time around.
It has just been brought to my attention that last night they were in Boston, tonight they're in NYC, and tomorrow they're in Philly. Such torture. But I'll see them in person one day.
Anyway, back to their upcoming album release. Their album In a Tidal Wave of Mystery is set to release on June 3rd. Less than a month away, but somehow I managed to find an EP with 5 of the songs from this new album on it. Those songs include: Center Stage, I Sold My Bed, But Not My Stereo, Love Away, Patience Gets Us Nowhere Fast, and Safe and Sound. I honestly can't pick just one favorite yet because they are all so catchy and amazing. But I'll let you preview two that I think will hook you guys.
P.S. On their new album, they have a song featuring Andre 3000. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about Andre 3000. I can't wait to buy the album. Rock on Capital Cities. You guys are amazing.
Jeana since I lied to you about Back to Black I feel like there is something else i should tell you that I lied about. Well you know how I told you i didn't like Jeff the Brotherhoods music just their personality and music... well i downloaded Hypnotic Nights last week the album the recorded with DAN AUERBACH and I hate to say i love it. I mean it just makes me want to day drink and love America. I mean I didn't like it at first but i gave it a second chance. I hope you can forgive me that's why I'm posting this apology on our blog.
This interview still makes me pee my pants.
I like this song......
Sorry for lying Jeana it will NEVER happen again.. I hope!
So today the Great Gatsby soundtrack was released. Jeana and I have been waiting this movie for what seems like years now. I also am so in love with Leonardo Dicaprio (ps ill never let go Jack). I mean this is defiantly my favorite music soundtrack ever! It combines some of my most favortie musicians such as JACK WHITE, Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, Florence and the Machine and so many more. So here are my top favorite tracks from the soundtrack.
Jack White- Love is blindess (Jeana and I are so obsessed with this song I also have a playlist that just contains this song 15 times. True life i have OCD and an addictive personality). I'm also going to say what everyone else is thinking this version is so much better then the U2 version. I mean come on who really likes U2 I know i don't!
Beyonce Andre 3000- Back to Black Jeana i'm sorry i lied to you last night and said I hated this song. I listened to it again this morning an decided i liked it because it so creepy and scary sounding. Obviously it will never compare to Amy Whinehouse RIP.
Lana Del Rey Young and Beautiful I mean i just want to be her when i grow up
Florence and the Machine Over the love Once again I just love anything she does.
The XX Together I have to support my ultimate depression band. Thank you for making me depressed.
I think I'm going to stop since I have basically listed the entire album! Everyone needs to buy this album because if you don't you are a loser and will be left out of everything.
