Fast Forward (almost) Friday

I have invented a new day of the week... Fast Forward Friday (copyright pending). What this means is that on Friday's, I am going to try to bring some attention/publicity to an upcoming band or album release so that we can all be ahead of the radio/popular curve. Because I know we all HATE when you love a song on an album and then a year later, that particular song becomes incredibly popular because the radio stations got their act together and put it on the air. Radio 104.1 needs to pick up their game... or I should just be a radio DJ on the side.

Although it's not Friday, the very first Fast Forward Friday honor goes to my latest obsession... Capital Cities. On the radio, you may have heard the very popular Safe and Sound. It's extremely catchy and has such a positive upbeat tempo. Apparently, they released it in 2011 but it got no air time. Now, with their album coming out, they re-released it and it seems to be doing better the second time around.

It has just been brought to my attention that last night they were in Boston, tonight they're in NYC, and tomorrow they're in Philly. Such torture. But I'll see them in person one day.

Anyway, back to their upcoming album release. Their album In a Tidal Wave of Mystery is set to release on June 3rd. Less than a month away, but somehow I managed to find an EP with 5 of the songs from this new album on it. Those songs include: Center Stage, I Sold My Bed, But Not My Stereo, Love Away, Patience Gets Us Nowhere Fast, and Safe and Sound. I honestly can't pick just one favorite yet because they are all so catchy and amazing. But I'll let you preview two that I think will hook you guys.

P.S. On their new album, they have a song featuring Andre 3000. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about Andre 3000. I can't wait to buy the album. Rock on Capital Cities. You guys are amazing.

Love your new biggest fan,
Jeana
